From humble beginnings in 2013, Ryley Jewellery Creations has grown into one of South East Queensland’s premier destinations for bespoke, handcrafted fine jewellery. Located in the heart of the Toowoomba CBD, our studio is a celebration of artistry, passion, and personalised service — where every piece is created to spark joy and tell a story.

At the helm is Creative Director, Ewen Ryley, a multi-award-winning jeweller whose journey began with a spark of curiosity in the small town of Cooktown. Inspired by his uncle’s love for fossicking and historical exploration, a young Ewen unearthed crystals and relics that ignited a lifelong passion for gemstones.

Following high school — where he won the senior art prize — Ewen studied in Brisbane to become a qualified Gemologist, later pursuing his dream of becoming a master jeweller. He refined his skills through silversmithing courses before commencing a formal jewellery apprenticeship in 2004. His dedication and talent were quickly recognised when he was awarded Best Overall Design and named Runner-Up Apprentice of the Year at the Queensland Jewellery Apprentice Awards.

In 2009, Ewen handcrafted his award-winning piece, Honey of the New World, which took first place in the International Opal Jewellery Design Awards. He then went on to hone his craft under a renowned master jeweller at one of Queensland’s most awarded workshops, earning further acclaim for his 2012 finalist piece, Penguin Playground, in the Australasian Jewellery Awards.

In 2013, Ewen and his wife Christel Ryley opened the doors to their own jewellery studio — Ryley Jewellery Creations — with a mission to bring artistry, craftsmanship, and emotion into every custom creation.

Today, Ewen is recognised as an industry leader, serving as a Director of the Young Jewellers Group and more recently as a Director of the Jewellery Industry Network.

Passionate about mentoring the next generation, he has judged several prestigious competitions including the Queensland Jewellery Apprenticeship Awards, the Jewellery Design and Manufacturing Championships, and the Jewellery Industry Network Bench Competition.

Ewen’s voice is widely respected across the industry, with contributions to national publications like Jeweller Magazine, where he shares insights into the evolution of the trade and the importance of preserving traditional craftsmanship through apprenticeships.
